Do something every single day that is challenging for you, something that you don’t want to do. The best thing I can think of that I do, that I recommend to others, is just a cold shower. Who the hell? I live in Connecticut. In the winter, nobody in their right mind wants to take a cold shower in Connecticut, but guess what happens when you do it? Yeah, it’s uncomfortable, but then it’s not, and it feels better.
And so, there’s so much neurological and immune, and good functions of taking cold showers. But the biggest thing I think is just the fact that you did something you didn’t want to do. It may not be a cold shower for you but give yourself some challenge.
The world around us is getting more simple in a way. Things are becoming more convenient. Things are technologically more advanced than ever been. Our society is coddling us more than ever. And look, there are things that we need to be smarter and more sensitive about.
But when it comes to performance in life, that’s not one of them. Because guess what? Nature doesn’t give a shit about your feelings. It’s going to be how it’s always been, which is wild, chaotic, unpredictable, and the only way to train for that is to make sure that you step out of your comfort zone daily and if you do that you will build a strong resilience.
So, find something you don’t wanna do and do it daily. Does not have to be big. Find something small, start and do it regularly.
