Have stubborn fat in your mid section that you’ve been trying to get rid of? Well Joe Carabase has some answers for you. Today on “Great Day Fitness,” Carabase spoke about why some of your methods may not be working. Regardless of how many crunches, sit-ups, and ab workouts you do, it’s not going to shrink your stomach. You ultimately won’t see any spot reduction to that area. What you want to aim to do instead is a functional ab workout, through functional movement. Carabase takes us through a demonstration of a goblet squat, where you are doing squats with a dumbbell. When you do a workout like this, it’s helping you build more muscle. With this you’ll also want to increase your cardio. If you’re currently not doing any cardio, start with walking 45 minutes a day. You can break it into intervals or do a full 45. Another workout you want to aim to do are planks. Don’t engage with your ego when doing this, you don’t have to over do it. It’s not about how long you can hold a plank, just as long as you feel it. You can hold for 30 seconds and there will be progress.
