Our renowned owner and CEO Joe Carabase went on Great Day Connecticut for another fitness segment! He discusses how a lack of confidence can distract you from your fitness goals. Carabase states that we all have different energies within ourselves, this is usually split up into primary parts and disowned parts. Our primary parts are usually our more dominant parts that create these physical patterns and habits that we stick to, whereas disowned parts are a less aggressive push. These energies can have positive and negative effects on our lives. You could fall into a habit of self sabotage or even perfectionism. In order to change those patterns you have to shift your mindset. Carabase speaks about his own experience with lacking confidence as he was growing up. he was picked on when he was a young child and when he got to high school he made his self development his top priority. “Motivation has to come from deep within us,” he says. In order to create real change it has to be internal. You cannot allow your lack of confidence to keep you stuck in those habits. You have to face your insecurity head on, Carabase calls this labeling. Whether you choose to call it an insecurity or a lack of self confidence, you just have to separate it from yourself. Write it down so that you can see it, this creates objectivity. This gives you more control and the ability to find a solution. You don’t have to be stuck in this mental space forever. On top of building your self confidence you also must give yourself challenges to overcome. This can be physical, mental, or even emotional. Get out of your comfort zone and see it through. This only boosts your confidence and pushes you to be better. Speaking of challenges, D-Fine is currently offering a “Slimmer in Three Weeks” jumpstart program.
