Great Day Fitness invited our renowned owner Joe Carabase back for another segment! This episode focused on helping busy parents still meet their fitness goals while entertaining their little ones. Self sabotage can occur when we make the excuse that our kids prevent us from working out. They absolutely do not! Invite them in to your fitness world and keep up with your healthy habits. Carabase has two young children of his own and he showcased a few fun exercises that you can do right at home with your little ones. First he showed us, “Blast Off Squats”, his daughter seemed to enjoy that one a ton! You can also do regular squats with your kids and each time you come up you can double high five each other, running in place, dancing with mom and dad, and even some balancing practice. Keep it interactive so that your child doesn’t get bored, make it fun for both of you. Carabase demonstrates each of these exercises in the video linked above. Working out with your children especially when they are so young, sets a good example of consciously making those healthy life choices. It teaches them to make excuses and keep their bodies moving. This is a great form of parenting! Statistics say that obesity is something that can be passed on through generations in your family. “If you’re over weight as a kid, then you’ll be overweight as an adult and if you have overweight parents, you’ll more than likely have an overweight child,” Carabase states.
